Welcome to Hogsback

Nibelheim Self Catering Cottage is set in a beautiful garden abundant with nut and fruit trees. This very private and tranquil spot offers spectacular views of the Hogs and Tor Doone. While here you are likely to spot a number of bird species as well as samango monkeys playing in the trees.

Hogsback, with its wonderful mountains, spectacular views, mystical forests, swirling mists, starry skies, beautiful birds, butterflies and mushrooms, and its often glorious sunsets, has an air of enchantment and tranquility all of its own. It is the ideal holiday destination for nature lovers.

We offer a one bedroom self-catering wooden chalet built on stilts. The chalet sleeps one couple and can accommodate two children on mattresses. There is a comfortable bedroom, living area, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen.

Attractions and things to do

You can explore Hogsback by means of hiking trails, short or long walks, leisurely drives, or by mountain bike. There are superb hikes and mountain bike rides through the hills, with spectacular views of the mountains and the valley below. Horse riding and mountain bike hire available. 

There’s trout fishing in various dams and beautiful indigenous forests along magical forest streams and stunning waterfalls. There are two game reserves within 60kms of Hogsback.

Nibelheim is hosted by a birding enthusiast and guided bird walks can be arranged.
